Hi John,

Thank you for the welcome into the World that is Wildcat.

Well I picked her up today and she is a beauty!

I bought her sight unseen and am not disappointed in the slightest (huge grin on face)

What a lot of fun – the tyres do dig up the yard though as the Wife pointed out afterwards.

As far as we know this a 1973 machine and I am only the third owner. First was a doctor, then the gentleman that I bought her from today and now myself. Machine has done 900 hours since new! Engine is hardly run in!!!

Came with ripper, dozer, slasher, forks and a new bucket (no connecting arms for the latter though – so if anyone has any ideas…)

Oh and here is the strange bit…

Three months ago or so we bought a Diahatsu Delta truck from a guy in the Hobart suburb of Warrane.

Great truck!

Last Wednesday I saw the ad for this wildcat on gumtree and as mentioned, bought it sight unseen.

Went to pick it up today and the first thing the guy (Chris) said was how much did I pay for the truck?
Strange question but I told him anyway – turns out HE had sold the truck to the guy in Warrane who then sold it to us.

This was the truck Chris used to transport this Wildcat!!!
He still had the steel sides and ramps he had made to load said wildcat on said truck so threw them in as well!

Ah serendipity – gotta love it…

Thanks for the advice re seats – It already has one courtesy of Chris but harness is a great idea and yes it is extremely noisy but earmuffs will help a lot.

I have attached a few photos of ‘Priscilla’ (don’t ask) so if you would like to put this email and the pics on the forum it would be great.

Thank you John

regards

Alan Jennison

Thinking of putting this up for sale – any serious offers? Go high enough and I will throw in the Diahatsu Delta truck so you can drive it away!

    Hello Alan,

I was blown away to see your post and picture of your Williams Wildcat … These were manufactured in Warragul Victoria as you correctly state in 1973 where I was a year 10 student at Warragul Technical School. I was doing an agriculture class at the time and Mr Williams bought his prototype to the school for a demonstration and and upon completion asked those students attending if anyone would be interested in becoming a “test driver” to clock up some hours on the machine and iron out any bugs …. needless to say I put my hand up quick smart and spent many hours operating this fantastic machine in all types of situations.

Thanks for the trip back in time 🙂

    Kind Regards … Michael Raymount.
